Ryan Blanchard grew up in rural Virginia and moved to Columbus in 2013 where he immediately fell in love with improv. A regular performer since early 2016, he is a part of many groups around the city. He’s taken numerous classes and performed at events such as the Columbus Improv Festival and the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival. He also did his first ever cartwheel on stage at the Nest Theatre.
Katie Drown is no limelight novice. She‘s been singing and acting since she was a child. Katie’s improv career started at the Ohio State University in 2011 when she joined the campus‘ beloved Fishbowl Improv, a group which today she coaches. Over the years she’s dabbled in many improv forms, but her true passion is musical longform improv. When Katie isn‘t on stage or at work, you’ll likely find her cuddling with her cat, Mer.
Darla Munroe has been improvising in Columbus for nearly five years. After taking classes locally with Jeff Gage, she completed the intensive summer programs at both Second City and iO in Chicago. She was a founding member of Hashtag Comedy, performing regularly with them until 2015. She also performs currently with Mike Munroe as Dr. and Mr.
Bryan started performing improv in New York City, where he trained at The PIT, and The Magnet Theater. He’s an award-winning Creative Director, writer, and all-around nice guy. Bryan was recognized for The Find Bryan Murphy Project, which ABC WorldNews anchor Charles Gibson described as “a ridiculous idea”. He’s has had a wicked good time performing improv in Columbus, and in groups like Brandy, Super Secret, and Storyteller.
Shannon Poulsen started training for improv with ComedySportz’s high school league in 2008, going on to help found her high school’s troupe Scared Scriptless. She most recently was a four-year member of Riot Act, a long form troupe from the University of Delaware. Shannon also hosted and produced The Biweekly Show, a sketch comedy show. She’s performed in a variety of improv festivals and events across welcoming stages on the East Coast.
David Z Price spent the last 15 years living in NYC where he studied and performed with the Magnet, Pit, and Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. After years of working as a professional writer, actor, comedian and amateur dad, David had the opportunity to move back home to Columbus, Ohio, with his kick ass wife and okay-ish children. David is so excited to now call The Nest Theatre his improv home. LET’S DANCE!!!
Robin Starr has been playing around with Improv since 2001, learning the ropes with Cinublue Productions. She was a founding member of Easily Amused Improv, and has performed with Hashtag Comedy and See You Thursday. She’s popped up at Columbus’ Improv Wars and in Deuces Wild, along with the occasional scripted show. Robin also gets behind the scenes by leading teambuilding workshops using Improv sensibilities to build connection.
L.T. Thornton is from Dayton, OH and has studied long and short form improv for over 6 years. He has trained, performed, and taught classes with Lofty Aspirations Comedy and performed at Wiley‘s Comedy Club and The Black Box Improv Theater. He has a longtime collaboration with the group The Burnt Out Carnies, and has performed in The Black Box’s Improvised Shakespeare. LT also performs with The Nest’s own ComedySportz team in Columbus.
Hannah is from Dayton, Ohio. When she moved to Columbus, she became a part of the small but growing improv community. She has been doing improv for five years and is a graduate of the Nest Theatre. She has performed with different mediums all over the city and has been in numerous shows, including the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival. She takes the improv creed to heart, leading with love and doing things that scare her.
