The Stand-Up Clinic
Classes Mondays Sept 18, Oct 2; Show Oct 11th or 12th
2 comps included in student enrollment for friends to attend the Share Show!
Ever wanted to try your hand at stand up, and shape a short act? The stand up clinic is here! Rooted in just two evenings of brainstorming, guidance, shaping + editing – we move you towards a friendly mic-share from first inspiration to a few curated jokes shared from your specific voice.
THIS CLASS HAS SOLD OUT SIX TIMES IN A ROW! If you do the work, take the notes, and adapt you will have 5 minutes of material by the end of this that will have been both critiqued by the instructor and tested in front of an audience! It’s fun and productive for those starting a stand-up journey.
[No experience required; Nest Level 1 Improv Core Curriculum pre-requisite; The Nest is a registered Safe/Brave Space in the state of Ohio and we amplify underserved people in the arts, including BIPOC, LGBTIQ, PwD, those over 65, and Veterans.]
1) You must be present at all of the classes. There is required homework for each class/showcase.
2) This is a hybrid-class (part in person, part online) so you will need a strong internet connection, web cam, and mic to be a part of zoom calls. This will be planned closer to class time.
3) The class showcase is tentative and subject to change.
4) Not in Cbus? That’s okay, as long as you can join us physically for the class show at the end in-person!
Online Class 9/18 & Mon 10/2 7-8:30pm; Class Showcase Oct 11 or Oct 12 7:30pm (Nest Mainstage)
Due to the ongoing COVID situation, we are requiring all class participants to be vaccinated.
